Support

Something not working, or a question the answers below don’t cover? Write to tim@waitprofessor.com. A person reads every message, usually within a couple of days. It helps to include your device model, your iOS version, and roughly when the problem happened.

Subscriptions and billing

Start, change, or cancel

Your subscription is handled by Apple, not by us. Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and pick Wait, Professor. Cancelling there stops the next renewal and leaves you access until the period you have already paid for runs out.

The free trial

New subscribers get three days free. Cancel any time before the third day ends and you are not charged — the same Subscriptions screen shows the date the trial converts.

Restore a purchase

New phone, or reinstalled the app? Sign in with the same Apple or Google account, then tap Restore purchases on the plans screen. Your subscription is tied to your account, so it follows you onto any device you sign in on.

Refunds

Apple issues refunds for App Store purchases, and we cannot process one on their behalf. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something in the app is what went wrong, tell us as well — we would rather fix it.

If a subscription doesn't unlock

Reopen the plans screen and tap Restore purchases first; that re-checks your receipt with Apple. If it still says you are not subscribed, email us with the Apple ID email you bought with and the approximate purchase time, and we will reconcile it by hand.

Using the app

A course or lesson wouldn't generate

Lessons are written on demand, so a dropped connection mid-generation shows up as an error. Check your connection and try the lesson again — nothing is lost, and reopening a lesson that already generated never regenerates it. If the same topic fails twice, send us the topic and we will look at the logs.

A lesson lost you

Tap Mila at the bottom of the lesson and she re-explains the step you are on in plainer words. Thorne teaches; Mila is the one asking the questions you were about to ask.

Changing the language

Wait, Professor is offered in sixteen languages. Lessons are generated in the language chosen on the compose screen, which starts out matching your device, and a course keeps the language it was created in for every lesson in it.

Courses after a subscription ends

Everything you already built stays readable. A lapsed subscription stops new courses and new lessons from being generated; it does not take away the ones on your shelf.

Your account and data

Delete your account

Write to tim@waitprofessor.com from the address you signed in with and we will delete your account, your courses, and every lesson in them. We aim to act within 30 days, and in practice much sooner.

Get a copy of your data

Same address. The privacy policy sets out exactly what we hold, who processes it, and how long it is kept.

Report a bug or ask for a feature

Also the same address — there is no ticket queue to get lost in. Bug reports with a screenshot and the topic you were learning get fixed fastest.
